Aubrey O’Day is ready to snatch wigs with her new single

After establishing herself as a reality star, the most outspoken and most confident member of the amazing, yet defunct, group Danity Kane, Aubrey O’Day, is finally ready to snatch wigs. The star will be releasing her debut single, “Automatic”, on April 12 and according to Billboard, it is an “electro-charged club banger” and will be produced by Adonis, who has worked with Beyonce, Usher, and Mariah Carey.

Aubrey says that although shewanted to come with a ballad first just to throw people for a loop," she’s happy that “Automatic” will start off her career.  'Automatic' is the right fit for where music is headed now," says Aubrey. "It's a pop-dance track, but I wanted to go in the club and write a song about not having to put on all the glamour and the glitz. So many dance songs are about putting on Louis Vuitton, getting dressed up and everything, and I wanted to do a song about walking in the room and getting automatically noticed and stealing everyone's attention without trying to."

If you are following her Oxygen network series “All about Aubrey”, then you would have seen that it displayed her working on her album. She has recorded at least 50 songs for her SRC/Motown debut. Future episodes will include Aubrey recording a duet with fellow Danity Kane member Aundrea Fimbres, while the April 11 episode will show Aubrey reaching out to Diddy, who guided the “Making the Band” group.

Aubrey has also stated the direction of the album, which will be urban-pop. "I don't want to go all the way pop," she explains. "I have a very pop voice, but there's so much of me I associate mostly with urban music, so I try to blend the two. There's so many sides and capabilities my voice has, I want to play with all aspects, but this is what I think I do best." The album has no release date as of yet, although it is expected to be released this year.

I can see that Aubrey didn’t study and obtain a law degree for nothing. She is really smart and urban-pop could be the perfect genre for her to go. She could build a fan base out of both genres. However, it would be advisable that she strays more towards pop, as urban-pop has to be done correctly in order to sell since urban music is not as popular as it used to be. Aubrey has always been one of my favorite members, being the only girl to have bigger balls than anybody else for standing up to Diddy. She might not be the best singer, but she is one hell of a performer and will be able to sell her songs. Hide your faves people; Aubrey is coming for wigs this year…

Check out the performance of Danity Kane, you know, the one that had me sweating...
