Chris Brown debuts at #1, Jennifer Hudson sees a #2 debut

Despite the drama surrounding the singer’s recent actions, Chris brown has scored his first number one album on the Billboard 200, as his fourth studio album, “F.A.M.E.”, shifts 270,000 copies its first week. This would make “F.A.M.E” his second-highest first week sales and fourth top ten album.  Only “Exclusive” debuted with a higher first week of 294.000 copies.

Jennifer Hudson’s second album, “I Remember Me”, settles at number two with 165,000, while reigning queen Adele’s “21” falls to number three with 96,000 (2%decline). Jennifer’s album matches the peak of her debut album, albeit with a lower sales. Her debut album, “Jennifer Hudson”, debuted and peaked at number two with 217,000.

The Strokes arrive at number four with “Angles” debuting with 89,000, while Kirk Franklin’s “Hello Fear’ starts with 87,000 at number five. Other debuts include the digital-exclusive charity compilation "Songs For Japan" at No. 6 (68,000), Panic at the Disco's "Vices & Virtues" at No. 7 (56,000), and the final top 10 arrival, Bobby Valentino's "Fly On the Wall," lands at No. 9 with 38,000.

The rest of the top ten includes Mumford & Sons' "Sigh No More" with 39,000 (down 6%) while Lupe Fiasco's "Lasers" slides with 29,000 (down 38%).

That concludes this week of chart update. Be sure to look out for top debuts by Britney Spears, Wiz Khalifa and many more.
