MTV release Britney Spears special, “Femme Fatale” debuts at #8 on UK charts

MTV released “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale” yesterday at 9 pm. The project shows Britney and building process of the project. This should help the sales of the album, as Britney Spears' “Femme Fatale” has debuted at number 8 on the UK charts with almost 30,000 copies sold, her lowest first week sales over there.

Britain has never embraced Britney like the States have, and with no UK promotions, this was bound to happen. “Hold It Against Me” debuted at number 8, whereas it topped the charts elsewhere. Likewise, “Till The World Ends” debuted at number 20 and peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100, yet it spent roughly two weeks in the top 40 of the UK charts, peaking at number 21. Her “Circus” album sold close to 76,631 copies its first week, but that was thanks to her X-Factor performance and the Christmas rush.

Hopefully, Brit Brit can expect better sales as she keeps her promotional duties consistent. Let’s hope that after this era, Britney takes a long break and comes back when she is ready to perform again.

You can watch the special below. I'll post my thoughts later.
