Jason Derulo is about to embark on
his biggest UK
tour when he returns to the country in February 2012.
The singer has revealed that he
will be playing at eight arenas across the UK to support his latest second
studio album, Future History. The
eight-date tour will include his largest London
show to date as he is scheduled to play at the Wembly Arena on March 1st. The
tour will start in Glasgow on February 23 and
will conclude in Newcastle
on March 3.
Jason Derulo is now established as
one of the world’s biggest pop stars having sold 17 million singles globally
(1.8 million of which were in the UK ) and a million copies of his
debut album. His YouTube channel is placed within the Top 100 All-Time Most
Viewed Channels with over 400 million streams, and he had over 100,000 plays on
UK
radio in 2010, making him the 9th most played artist of the year. In addition,
he has over 6 million fans on Facebook. However, not all is good news as his album
as Future History had first-week sales of 13,000 copies. That’s sad for an
artist who had two top 20 hits from an album.
I'm a Jason Derulo fan so I'm kind of disappointed. Maybe Jason should concentrate on
bringing something new to the table like he can and build up a fanbase. He
should reach out to the urban fans and add more R&B to his music. Maybe
then Ancient History would have done better…
Tickets for the shows will go on sale on October 14 at 9am.
