Can the duo that spawned the #1 hit
single “The Boy Is Mine”, which won a Grammy in 1998, topped the Billboard Hot
100 for 13 weeks and was the best-selling song of the year, score another R&B hit with their latest
release “It All Belongs To Me”?
That is what most Brandy and Monica
fans are asking themselves. It has been more than a decade since the song was
released and the music landscape has drastically changed. However, on February
8, the Rico Love-produced track will be released, appearing on both Monica’s ‘New
Life’ and Brandy’s new studio album.
It will be interesting to see if the duo still has it in them to create something fresh for urban radio. Let’s pray that we hear some instruments and butter-smooth vocals and harmonies because I think we’re all done with Rico recycling the hell out of “Motivation”.
In other news, Brandy has enlisted
the help of Drake for her new album. With his melodramatic lyrics, broody sound,
and Brandy’s heavenly harmonies, I’m sure all of our faves are not safe!
