America’s
latest rising super star Kristen Wiig decided to improve our cyber lives by
impersonating indie’s biggest enemy Lana Del Rey during the Weekend Update
segment on “Saturday Night Live”.
Sporting
a blonde wig similar to Lana’s hair and a lacy white top, the “Bridesmaids”
star cleverly defended the tooty-lipped star, responding to the harsh criticism
that Lana endured over her “Saturday Night Live” performance.
"Based on the public's response, I must have clubbed a baby seal while singing the Taliban national anthem."
"No serious musician would ever change their name, except maybe for Sting, Cher, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, everyone else in hip-hop, and of course, Bob Dylan."
"The music stage on 'Saturday Night Live' is hallowed ground, and I failed to reach the high bar set by past guests like Bubba Sparxxx, the Baha Men, and Shaggy."
My favourite?, “In this age of dangerous school bullying, you have set an important message: If you think someone is weird, you should criticize them as much as possible.”
I’m
happy that they addressed this situation because the public really caused an
uproar over a performance that Lana’s nerves got the better of.
